Mina prides himself on finding efficient, practical, and cost-effective solutions to his clients’ problems. Equally comfortable in the board room and the court room, Mina relies on his wealth of experience as a lawyer and serial entrepreneur to negotiate timely and satisfactory solutions for clients. When the time calls for it, however, Mina is a tenacious litigator willing to take matters through to trial, if and when it is in his clients’ best interests.

Mina's civil and commercial litigation practice is heavily focused on business and shareholder disputes, employment law and workplace disputes, estate litigation, and real estate related disputes. Mina routinely acts for corporations and shareholders in disputes including oppression remedies, derivative actions, fraud, and breach of contract. Mina also represents both employees and employers in workplace litigation and dispute resolution, including constructive and wrongful dismissal, termination for cause, and human rights violations. Mina additionally acts as counsel in estate litigation matters, and advances applications for will interpretations and for direction from the court, and will challenges including capacity or undue influence claims, and debt (quantum meruit) claims. Mina has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, and various administrative tribunals, and has conducted numerous mediations – often leading to settlement without the need for protracted and expensive litigation.

In his transactional and advisory practice, Mina acts as general counsel to many small businesses in Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton, Burlington, Hamilton, and all over Ontario. He also enjoys helping his clients handle the day to day challenges all small businesses face. He has experience acting for and advising corporations and business owners on corporate formations and structuring, including the formation of professional corporations, corporate governance, drafting and negotiating a variety of shareholder agreements and contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, business succession and estate planning, employment matters, dispute resolution, and providing ongoing general legal advice.

Mina has developed expertise in representing and advising health care providers, including dental, medical, retail pharmacy, veterinary, chiropractic, massage therapy, physiotherapy, and other related practitioners on startup, purchase and sale of clinics, employment and associate contracts, managing employee hiring and dismissal,  commercial leasing, and dispute resolution.

Mina also has extensive experience in real estate law and estate planning and administration. He has represented first time home buyers, sophisticated real estate investors, corporations, and institutional and private lenders in closing a high volume of residential and commercial purchase, sale, and mortgage transactions. On estate planning matters, he is adept at preparing wills and powers of attorney, advises estate trustees on their duties, and assists with applications for certificates of appointments as estate trustees.

When Mina is not busy resolving a dispute, closing deals or negotiating contracts, he enjoys his time with his wife and two children, watching the Toronto Raptors, playing pickup basketball, or weight lifting at his local gym
