Mina R. Khalil is the founder and principal of MRK Law P.C., and is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law, having obtained his Juris Doctor in 2013. Prior to law school he studied accounting and financial management at McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business and obtained his Honours Bachelor of Commerce in 2010. During his undergraduate studies, Mina spent sixteen months interning in the finance department of one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers at their Canadian headquarters in Oakville, Ontario.
Since graduating law school, Mina began his legal career by training under some of Hamilton and Toronto’s most reputable law firms. He has developed a wealth of knowledge in a wide range of practice areas, with a particular emphasis on Real Estate and Business Law, Family Law, and Employment Law.
Mina was fortunate to train under some of Ontario’s leading real estate lawyers and played an instrumental role in large commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and residential and commercial development projects for the firms’ clients. He’s acted for clients in the acquisition and disposition of commercial and industrial properties including commercial plazas, industrial plazas and hotels in Cambridge, Hamilton, Milton, Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. In the past two years alone he helped register plans of subdivision and condominium site plans for detached, semi-detached, town, and high rise condominium residences in Hamilton, Kitchener, Whitby, Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Mina also independently handled a thriving high volume residential real estate practice throughout.
Mina continues to act for and advise builders, developers, landlords, tenants and individuals in all aspects of real estate including condominium law, residential and commercial acquisitions and dispositions, financing, leasing and land development.
Mina also has experience acting for and advising business owners and businesses of various sizes on corporate formations and structuring, including the formation of professional corporations, corporate governance, drafting and negotiating a variety of shareholder agreements and contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, business succession and estate planning, and providing general legal advice. He has developed expertise in advising businesses including real estate developers and builders, professional corporations including healthcare providers, and franchisees.
In addition to his transactional practice, Mina began his career practicing civil litigation. He continues to help clients resolve disputes and obtain the results they deserve in the most cost effective and expeditious manner. Whether that means relying on alternative dispute resolution, including mediation or arbitration, or pursuing an action through the Courts, Mina is well equipped to handle the dispute. Throughout the process Mina is a thorough and resilient advocate for his clients.
